The Party of your dreams: 21st Birthday Bash Themes (21st Birthday Gifts)
The Party of your dreams: 21st Birthday Bash Themes (21st Birthday Gifts)
A 21st birthday party is a truly special occasion, and there’s plenty of pressures to not only choose appropriate 21st birthday gifts, but to come up with creative themes to celebrate the big day. Fortunately there are many ways to mark the event whatever your tastes or your budget.
One of the most fun solutions is to theme your party around what was happening 21 years ago. You can get hold of replica newspapers from the day the party’s recipient was born and find out exactly what happened on the momentous day; as well as being handy research; these make memorable 21st birthday Gifts.
If you want to keep it more general, then for 1987, some of the events included the hurricane which Michael Fish failed to predict, the Black Monday stock market crash, the Spycatcher controversy, Lester Piggot going to jail on tax evasion charges and Sylvester McCoy becoming the seventh Dr Who. DVDs of the year’s major news events also make good 21st birthday gifts.
1988 was the year of Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards in the Calgary Winter Olympics, the ‘Crazy Gang’ of Wimbledon pulling off a shock upset against Liverpool in the FA Cup Final, Ben Johnson’s disgrace in the Seoul Olympics, the first ever Red Nose Day, and the scandal when Edwina Currie suggested most British eggs were infected with salmonella. You could even host an egg-themed party with exotic omelettes, meringues for desert and egg nog to drink. Believe it or not, there are even ‘egged’ paintings which make great party pieces or 21st birthday gifts.
Another twist on this is to ask guests to come as characters from popular films of the time. For 1987 this could include Three Men and a Baby, Fatal Attraction (though birthday cake might be safer than boiling a bunny!), Lethal Weapon, Wall Street (which will cut down the lunch bill). And who could forget Dirty Dancing? If the birthday girl loves that movie, she won’t get many cuter 21st birthday gifts than the new ‘Dirty Dancing in Your Pocket’ talking Keyring, complete with six classic quotes.
1988’s blockbusters included Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Big, Twins, Beetlejuice, Cocktail and Die Hard. These movies are often available as special edition DVDs which you could watch at the party – or use if you’re still stuck for ideas for 21st birthday gifts.
You could even challenge guests to dress as people from TV shows which began in the year the birthday celebrant was born. 1987 saw the first appearance of The Simpsons (albeit as a short cartoon in the Tracy Ullman Show), Inspector Morse, Going Live, Beadles About, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Knightmare. Shows making their debuts in 1988 included Home and Away, The Wonder Years, Red Dwarf and Roseanne. Many of these shows are coming out as DVD box sets which make 21st birthday gifts that will keep giving pleasure for months.
You can also choose music from the relevant year to add to the nostalgia theme. 1987’s major releases included Appetite for Destruction by Guns ‘N Roses, INXS’s Kick, Wet Wet Wet’s Popped in Souled Out, Prince’s Sign O’ The Times and The Joshua Tree by U2. It was also the year Kylie began her pop career and Tiffany sang I Think we’re Alone Now.
If you’re doing a 1987 music theme, remember this is the year Rick Astley hit the airwaves with Never Gonna Give You Up, so you really should make sure at least one of the 21st birthday Gifts involves the recipient being Rick-rolled!
Classic albums of 1988 included Surfer Rosa by The Pixies, Eric Clapton’s Crossroads, Kylie Minogue’s debut album Kylie, Hanging Tough by New Kids on the Block, U2’s Rattle and Hum. It was also the year of big hits including Belinda Carlisle’s Heaven Is a Place on Earth, Bobby McFerrin’s Don’t Worry Be Happy and Phil Collins’ A Groovy Kind Of Love. As well as using them for the party, you include collections of this classic music among the 21st birthday gifts.
For video game lovers, why not organise a retro gaming party. Sure, most guys into gaming want to see a Playstation 3 or Xbox among their 21st birthday gifts, but you’re sure to have fun if you can track down copies of games released in the year of the birthday boy or girl’s birth. For 1987, that includes groundbreaking beat-em-up Streetfighter, fantasy adventure game The Legend of Zelda, and the first instalment of the Double Dragon series. For 1988, look out for the first edition of John Madden’s Football, the platform classic MegaMan II and the role playing game Phantasy Star.

Beyond Birthday Invitations: Finding Birthday Party Accessories and Supplies
Beyond Birthday Invitations: Finding Birthday Party Accessories and Supplies
Why Birthday Party Decorations are Important
Whether you’re having your birthday party on a boat, at a park, in a restaurant, or at your home, it is essential to carry on the theme you’ve chosen with appropriate decorations. The birthday invitations set the mood; now it’s time for you to prepare to dress up the party venue and live up to everyone’s expectations. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to accomplish this feat, however. You just need your imagination and some good advice!
The most important element in finding perfect birthday party decorations is thinking outside of the proverbial box. Instead of simply choosing balloons and streamers, what other types of accessories could you include to make your birthday celebration truly shine?
For example, if you are planning a 1920s flapper’s party, you don’t have to be relegated to only black and white tablecloths. Think about incorporating feather plumes into centerpieces or giving out boas to the women to wear. Intertwine faux pearls with strands of Christmas lights to exude a glamorous aura. What about buying wholesale derby hats to pass out as party favors?
Where to Find Party Accessories and Supplies
Use your birthday invitation as a springboard to choose coordinating colors. For example, if you buy birthday invitations with a luau theme, you can use the cheerful magenta, lush greens, and turquoise colors as inspiration for buying brightly colored tablecloths, leis, tropical dishes, cups and napkins, as well as party favors.
You can also bring your birthday invitations directly into a party supplies store to pick accessories that are perfect for your theme. Extending the luau theme, you can look for grass skirts to attach to your tables, as well as faux banana leaves you can use as centerpieces. Why not buy a few tiki torches to really set the theme for your birthday party?
Of course, it’s easy to get carried away with party accessories because there are such a wide variety of choices. Therefore, it’s a good idea to make a note of the type of party you’re having, the number of guests, setting, and your budget. This way, if you are hosting a more formal party, for example, you won’t be swayed by colorful noise makers or more casual party supplies since they wouldn’t match the ambiance you initially desired.
Tips and Ideas for Preparing the Party Scene
When choosing the right birthday party supplies, keeping it simple will still create a festive atmosphere without the danger of going overboard. If there will be food at your party, a colorful tablecloth that picks up a color in your theme or incorporates your theme through pattern can really help set the mood. Props are another great way to highlight a theme. For example, if you are planning a Mexican fiesta party, you might decorate with bright colors, and to put everyone in the mood, you could hang a couple of sombreros on a focal wall and even set up a piñata.
As long as you stay true to one color scheme and keep your party accessories consistent with your birthday invitations, your guests are sure to enjoy a memorable party and leave you with lasting memories of a fantastic birthday party.
Modern and Formal or Casual Birthday Invitations for Kids
Modern and Formal or Casual Birthday Invitations for Kids
Choosing Kids Birthday Invitations
Kids birthday invitations almost always incorporate an element of fun since the audience is children instead of adults. Even the most formal children’s party still needs to entertain and be fun for the guests. This can include games or an activity that everyone can enjoy.
The invitations you choose should reflect the overall tone of the party you’re planning. If your child wants a modern formal party, perhaps celebrating a 13th birthday, the invitations should reflect elegance. Of course, if it’s a backyard event with active games, you should send kids birthday invitations that reflect the casual atmosphere of the party. This will ensure the kids are prepared and dressed appropriately.
Modern and Formal Birthday Invitations
Milestone birthdays could be celebrated with a more formal tone. Girls might want to have a tea party, whereby you could host one in your home or invite a group of girls to a local teahouse for afternoon birthday tea. Your kids birthday invitations could feature delicate ivory or even pale pink paper with a teacup border or perhaps be shaped like a teacup. Don’t forget to match the envelopes to the invitations with a pastel foil liner.
Another modern yet formal birthday party might include a sit down dinner in a nice restaurant or a spring fling dance for budding teenagers. The invitations could sport an elegant silver border to denote a formal party, but use modern dark purple block lettering to offset the formal invitation and inject a modern, young color.
Casual Birthday Invitations
In general, kids birthday parties tend to be more casual, and finding invitations to suit your party and theme shouldn’t be difficult. If you’re having a sports theme, you might choose invitations with a border of various sports balls and even ask guests to bring the ball for their favorite sport. This tells guests that the party will be casual and active, and kids can dress appropriately.
Another outdoor hit with kids would be a pool party. Your birthday invitations could feature a giant swimming pool with a slide or diving board and let guests know to bring towels and bathing suits for the party. If you have a budding race car driver, you might take a group of kids go-kart racing for the afternoon, and then cool off with some ice cream cake and soda.
If your child is young and has a favorite cartoon character, you might incorporate that character into your theme. For example, you might host a general Disney party where each child comes dressed like their favorite Disney character, or you could specify a particular movie or TV show as your theme. Your invites could then feature one or several characters fitting your theme and the fun nature of the birthday invitation will denote a casual affair.
Whether you choose a formal or casual celebration, as long as your birthday invitations match the atmosphere and tone of the party, it’s sure to be a success.
How To Make Her Birthday One To Remember!
How To Make Her Birthday One To Remember!
With some woman it’s not so much the gift that steals their heart but more about the time & effort that has gone into the gift. Here are two ideas to make her day one to remember:
Idea no# 1: Send her on a Shopping hunt.
Take her to shopping mall and make her sit down for a coffee whilst you say your going to duck off and will send her a text when you’re ready.
The structure of the event looks like this-
1. Head to her favourite shops and buy something.
2. Ask the sales assistant at the counter if you can leave it here for your girlfriend/partner to pick it up.
3. Tell them its her birthday and you’re going to send her on a shopping hunting adventure.
4. Ensure she can exchange it then and there if it isn’t correct fit/colour etc.
5. Send her a cheeky text message “ Happy Birthday sweetie- your mission for the Next 2hrs is to find me. I have left traces at particular shops you need to collect along the way- go into the shop and tell the shop assistant who you are and ask if ‘Brad has left anything for you?’. If for any reason you feel the need to try on a clue feel free. Stand by for more notice amd your next clue.
6. Send new text message with a shop & instructions- go to Sportsgirl and ask for Amy at the counter. Stand by for next sms.
7. Obviously this depends on how much cash you have and want to blow. You can send her to cheaper shops that are great bang for buck like Diva, Myer, ICE or to somewhat more higher ticket price like country road, Armani exchange.
8. A great tip to ensure you get the service and perhaps a helping hand is tell the assistant first what you’re doing what the service pour on out!! Who knows…..it will probably make their day fun too and turn around and say to the other shop assistants “oh I wish my man did that for me!”
Idea no#2: Mission Impossible:
Similar to the above event but send her to different locations leaving clues:
The structure of the event looks like this-
1. Leave a message on a pieces of paper, voice mail, text message:
‘This is mission impossible, to claim your birthday present you will be sent intricate messages to solve your case. Please text to this number and say “I Accept” you have until 2pm.’
2. Once you have the “I accept’ - send the next message. ‘Go into your wardrobe and get dressed into a sexy going out outfit that will turn heads. Text back when you are ready.’
3. Once she has text back- you order a taxi/limousine to pick her up. In the meantime while she is waiting send her the next text.
“Open the fridge there is a bottle of wine, pour yourself a glass and relax until there is a knock at the door where you’ll be taken to the next location’.
4. Whilst she is on her way you should be at the bar/restaurant or drop of point waiting…. Or you could continue the game with messages to particular places and locations eg: she could collect something from a train station locker (eg : a present/gift locked inside)- or send her to shops to collect things along the way.

Choosing Silver For Your 25th Birthday Party Invitations
Choosing Silver for Your 25th Birthday Party Invitations by Grace W. Chen
Your 25th birthday should be celebrated in style, denoting a quarter century milestone. Steal a page from the 25th anniversary playbook and make silver your signature birthday color.
Why Choose Silver Birthday Party Invitations?
Silver is a versatile metal that is used on casual jewelry, as well as formal silverware, serving ware and picture frames. For these reasons, it is also a versatile color that can signify a formal or casual gathering, making it a perfect choice for 25th birthday party invitations.
Your 25th birthday is the quarter-century anniversary of your birth, and stretching the silver anniversary theme to include your birthday puts a fun twist on the theme.
Selecting 25th Birthday Party Invitations
If you decide to have a silver celebration, it’s essential that you prominently display this on the 25th birthday party invitation. This will allow guests to dress appropriately, as well as perhaps silver-themed presents for your celebration.
Silver birthday party invitations do exist apart from anniversary invitations, ensuring that your choices will not be limited. You could choose to print your 25th birthday party invitations on silver paper with black lettering, mailed in a black envelope with silver foil lining, especially for a more formal gathering like a cocktail party. A casual silver birthday party invitation could have a colored background, such as light turquoise or dark green, combined with silver lettering and accents like a silver striped border.
Planning a Silvery 25th Birthday Bash
If you want to host a large party, you might consider an outdoor party or renting a venue to hold a large group. If you choose to host your party outdoors, this doesn’t mean the party must be casual, depending on time of day and the setting you create. You could set up a sheer silver tent, either renting one or draping silver fabric over poles secured in the ground. Then set up tables beneath with silver tablecloths and silver candelabras holding ivory tapers. The party time should be in the evening, creating an elegant ambiance and the perfect setting for a delicious dinner beneath the stars.
If you decide to rent a venue, lay silver tablecloths, whether you’ll have a sit-down meal, buffet, or drinks and dessert only, and use silver urns to house flower arrangements. If you’ll have the party catered, request silver-rimmed plates to match your theme. To set the tone before the party, you could send a tri-fold 25th birthday party invitation with a glittering champagne glass on the front and words “25th birthday party” embossed across the front.
If you want to host a fun party with silver accents and your birthday takes place during a warm month, consider a pool party. You could sport a silver bathing suit, and if you’ll play water games, could buy a silver volleyball to tie in with your theme. Your 25th birthday party invitations could be aqua or light blue and have pool party printed in bold silver lettering.
Don’t think you have to wait for your 25th anniversary to host a silver-inspired party! Go ahead and apply it to your 25th birthday and send silver birthday party invitations to announce a stylish party guaranteed to shine.
Whether you are celebrating your 25th birthday or your 75th, sending out chic silver birthday party invitations are always in style. Be inspired by this regal color when you are picking out the perfect birthday invitations for your celebration.

Birthday Golf - What A Sensational Idea!
Birthday Golf - What a Sensational Idea! by greenfee
Birthday Golf is a term given to a round of golf played on or around a golfer’s birthday, often a complimentary game given by the golf course as part of a marketing initiative.
In effect the deal is a loss leader as it often requires the birthday player to be accompanied by three other paying golfers and the use of buggies that are to be rented. Nevertheless, this is an extremely popular initiative offered by many courses throughout the USA and Canada that allows a golf club to build up a database of golfers who are interested in their facilities and allows them to further approach the golfer with other special offers they think will be of interest. With many sites offering facilities other than golf this initiative allows the club to demonstrate the full breadth of what they have to offer. The golfer obviously benefits from the deal by getting to play a golf course they may not necessarily have played before and enjoying a memorable day out with friends on their birthday.
The idea usually requires online registration for a day pass or voucher that can be exchanged for free birthday golf on a player’s birthday. In the case of winter birthdays a more suitable time is offered when the weather improves enough to play golf.
As many golf clubs face difficult and uncertain financial futures innovative marketing campaigns such as free birthday golf are ways of further showcasing a golf club to local golfers resulting in return visits and a positive image in local golfing circles. Memberships are the lifeblood of golf clubs but annual subscriptions are such a significant investment for a golfer that they are highly unlikely to commit to such a major outlay without first having sampled all the facilities available and satisfying themselves that they represent value for money. A club offering free birthday golf can show off their wares to a good number of potential members when they are at their most relaxed.
Of course there is nothing to stop a golfer registering at more than one golf club’s site and subject to the specific terms and conditions a golfer could have quite a birthday golf fest.

Hot Summer Ideas And Invitations For Your July Birthday
Hot summer ideas and invitations for your July birthday by Amy Carter
The peak of the summer months can be a great time to celebrate your birthday. The weather is warm until late in the evening giving all party goers extra time to enjoy the outdoors at a fun birthday party. July is also a patriotic month. Many birthdays can take advantage of the long holiday weekend and sneak in a birthday party with patriotic theme invitations and decorations.
Invitations
July birthday invitations should be bright in color and light in mood. If you’re celebrating around the 4th of July, make your invitations patriotic with red, white and blue colors, firework and star burst designs. If you’re planning you party for later in the month you can still use patriotic themes or opt for something more ‘summery.’ Pick a beach theme or a picnic themed invitation and you’ll have a fun summer theme for your July birthday invitations and party.
Pool party
A birthday party around a pool can be great fun for kids and for adults. Cool off your guests with pool games or just floating and relaxing. If you don’t have a pool in your yard, check out local public pools and rec centers. Chances are they can rent you a space for the party. Make sure your birthday invitations are clear about the location and the specific rules if you decide to go this route. Some public pools may require a parent present when kids under 16 come to swim.
Barbecue and picnic birthday parties
July is also a great time for a backyard bbq or picnic. If you’re hosting a party at your home, make sure you have some fun yard games and activities set up. You have lots of options with horseshoes, badminton, volleyball, kickball, Frisbee and more. Most games can be kid and adult friendly to get all ages involved. If you’re sending your birthday invitation for a picnic in a park, you can enjoy many of the same activities. If you’re in a wooded area, consider a nature walk or hike for a fun and unique activity. There may be some specific rules for the park you pick, so make sure you’re obeying the rules.
6-month birthday party
Often when a birthday falls around the Christmas holiday or the New Year, it can get pushed aside for the holidays. Take the chance to celebrate the ‘6-month birthday’ with an unexpected July birthday party. For kids, this can make them feel important and like their big day wasn’t forgotten or over shadowed. For adults, this can be a great chance to plan a perfect surprise party. Since July isn’t anywhere near their actual birth date, they won’t suspect a party.
Take advantage of the hot summer days and warm nights with a great July birthday. Before you know it, summer will be over and you’ll be glad you took time to enjoy the summer. Whether you’re a 4th of July birthday or a December birthday you can always celebrate in July with a red hot party filled with blue skies.

Say Goodbye To Summer With Great August Birthday Invitations And Ideas
Say goodbye to summer with great August birthday invitations and ideas by Amy Carter
While August is getting closer to the end of the warm summer months, you can still take advantage of the warm summer weather for your August birthday. Plan some fun activities to get kids and adults enjoying the weather for what could be the last time before school starts.
Invitations
August birthday invitations can be just as vibrant as any summer months. Pick bold, bright colors and accents that will highlight the mild weather and summer colors. A beach themed invitation works great, as would a pool party invitation or even a summer sports themed birthday invitation.
August is often a month for family vacations. Since the kids are still out of school many families choose to head out of town for a family trip. Make sure you get your birthday invitations in the mail early to avoid any conflicts. You probably won’t be able to pick a date that will suit absolutely everyone, but at least you can try to accommodate as many guests as possible.
Outdoor activities
Be sure to plan on lots of outdoor activities for your august birthday party. But make sure you’ve got some structure. A dozen children running around your house and yard is not an ideal situation for anyone. If sports are not on the agenda, maybe some fun contests, finger painting or even a small petting zoo – if your budget allows – can make your august birthday a hit. Make a note on your birthday invitation about your plans so kids con come dressed in appropriate attire.
One thing is a must as you party under the August sun – sunscreen. Don’t forget to slather kids and adults with the right SPF to avoid too much sun. Sunburn is never a good party favor.
August menu and dessert treats
Many may have had their fill of hot dogs and hamburgers after the 4th of July and many other summer picnics. Pick some fun seasonal menu items that are unique and still kid friendly. Try a simple mac and cheese served in a small disposable cup. This is tasty for kids and is perfect for ‘grab and go’ as they enjoy the activities of the party. A PB&J can be another great option. While it’s not fancy, it can be perfect for a kid on the go.
For dessert, skip the traditional cake and opt for a cool ice cream cake or a sundae bar. Stock the ice cream bar with fruits, chocolate sprinkles and whipped topping; whatever you and your birthday kid can think of. And soon, making your own sundae is the hit of the party. This is definitely an outdoor activity. Kids will focus on the ice cream and might not be the tidiest guests. After the sundae bar, you might want to plan a water activity – swimming, a run through the sprinkler or ‘slip and slide’ to wash off sticky kids.
August is a great summer month to celebrate your birthday. Gather friends and family for one last party before the kids go off to school for the year and the summer weather gives way to fall.
Check out MyExpression.com for great summer birthday invitations. You’ll also find great birthday invitations for any season.
