Children’s Birthday Parties - A Timeline For A Great Event!

Children’s Birthday Parties - A Timeline For A Great Event!

By Annette Yen

Having the best children’s birthday party shouldn’t be a stressful thing. Follow the timeline below and your child and you will be the hit of the neighborhood.

About a month before your party you’ll want to:

Talk with your child and choose a party theme and/or decide what your “entertainment” will be for the party. This will help you determine your party budget as well.

Create the guest list. Don’t forget to include friends from school, the neighborhood as well as relatives and more distant friends.

Choose a party date and time. Most children’s birthday parties are generally one to two hours long.

Order the general party supplies: tablecloth, tableware, decorations, etc.

Think about games. Keep the ages and personalities of the children as you plan your activities. And sometimes shorter and simpler parties with one fun activity are best and least stressful.

Two weeks prior to the party make sure you:

Decide on your menu. Are you just having cake and ice cream? Is the party at a mealtime and do you need to order pizzas or are you cooking yourself, etc.?

Mail the invitations. You will probably need to call everyone that doesn’t RSVP. People will forget and will appreciate the reminder call

Ask for help. If you think you might need some help for party day, ask a couple of the moms of the kids who are invited to stay and help. Most people would love to, you just need to ask.

One week before party day you should:

Bake your cake and freeze it. Knowing the cake is done will be such a stress reliever on the big day!

Prepare and freeze any other foods that can be made in advance.

Get an exact guest count. Call any guests who have not responded.

Two days before the party don’t forget to:

Get any last minute food items and don’t forget candles, matches and FILM!

Check your batteries in your camera and video recorder.

Purchase a small helium tank from your local party or craft store. It’s a great thing to keep your children busy the morning of the party too!

Make up a party timeline for the party day so you don’t forget anything.

One day before the party remember to:

Take out food and cake from the freezer.

Do any decorating that you can do in advance

Finish any food preparation that can be done ahead of time.

On the morning of the party day make sure to:

Fill your balloons with helium.

Prepare any foods and beverages that could not be made ahead of time.

Write out your timeline for the day so you don’t forget anything.

You don’t want to miss out on the memories you’ll have with the pictures, so ask a relative or trusted friend to be responsible for the picture taking.

Relax and enjoy this great day. And then get ready for next year!

You might wonder where you can get the Dora the explorer party supply but there are lots of resources that you can choose from. The Internet will be a good reference because you can have a wide search and you can take the entire day without getting tired and exhausted in choosing party packs.

You can look for the Dora the explorer party supply in the official website or you can just search the search engines and you will be displayed with hundreds and thousands of websites that you can choose from. Choose a good site which offers discounts and free shipping so that you can save on your daughter’s birthday even when you want to buy her Dora the explorer party supply.

Setting up your own materials for the party will be very tiring. Some people will even make their decorations and designs with their own materials but it will only be time consuming yet may not appear well prepared at all. Much worse, your daughter may not even like it and will cause her to spoil the party.

When you decide to purchase Dora the explorer party supply, order it through the Internet. You can even make payments easily by giving them your Paypal account if you have, give them credit cards or opt for other modes of payment.

You can also have it delivered right in the comfort of your home without exerting too much effort. Your kid’s friends will surely enjoy the party hats, plates, spoons and toys. You can even play an adventure game as if it were shown on TV so that all the kids will have a good time and will participate properly.

Your daughter will feel as if she was Dora celebrating her birthday party with the Dora the explorer party supply. Before you order the Dora the explorer party supply, you need to have a rough estimate of how many balloons you are going to need and the number of hats and plates too.

You can even send out Dora the explorer invitations and you can ask them to wear adventure costumes. You can also dress up your daughter just like Dora. This kind of birthday party is surely fun and your daughter will definitely remember it for the rest her life.

Give her a Dora the explorer party supply while she is still young. Who knows, this might boost her skills and socialization with the other kids to welcome her to the grown up world.

If you don’t want to search in the Internet, you can personally visit the party supply shops and who knows, they might even have mascots of the characters of Dora the Explorer like Boots or Swipper.

Give your child the best party that she will treasure for the rest of her life. Childhood happens only in a few years so give her a Dora the explorer party supply for her birthday party and see how it will bring her joy.

Someone You Know Have A Birthday? Send A Free Online Greeting Card

Someone You Know Have A Birthday? Send A Free Online Greeting Card

By John Francis Amberden

Web sites like http://www.123greetings.com and http://www.bluemountain.com can help you make your own personalized ecards to send to people, no matter where in the world they are. The internet is proving to be a fantastic medium to send cards to people. People favor the internet to send electronic birthday cards as it proves to be the cheapest and fastest way of sending cards. A card can be selected, personalized and sent to the recipient within minutes.

The internet has revolutionalized the way people send cards to each other. Sending electronic birthday cards has its own pros and cons. In fact, sending free online cards has more pros than cons. The pros are that you can send a card fast, free and relatively certain of delivery to people all over the world. You can write your own text on the card and even customize it. Most of the birthday cards are animated letting you play the animation over and over again. You can keep the free online cards in your email account as long as you want. Sending online free cards also saves on paper and the indirect cutting of trees. It saves on time and efforts of writing a card, putting it in an envelope and then sending the envelope by mail incurring expenses. The only con I can think of in sending free birthday cards over the internet is that it lacks effort to make a personal card. It lacks that personal touch that goes in making a card on paper, writing matter in your own handwriting and then taking the effort in sending it by mail.

Birthday cards are the most common types of cards that are sent over the internet and are also the most popular cardgiven personally. The whole essence of sending or giving a birthday card is to make the person feel special and make his or her day memorable. After all, birthdays come just once in a year and your wishes go a long way in making the next year a fun filled year … a year filled with lots of success and achievements. Birthday cards on websites are categorized in sub sections like “Birthday Moments”, “Memorable Birthday Cards”, “Birthday Smiles”, etc. In addition, the cards are further customized according to whom the cards are sent to. There are special cards that can be customized to send to your parents, your friends, your brothers and sisters and also to your relatives.

You can send free birthday cards from any of the hundreds of sites that are published on the internet. Everyday newer and newer cards are added to the already huge collection of birthday cards. You will never fall short of choices. You just have to navigate through the vast list of cards, select the card that you like, customize it according to your preference, change its background, add some good music and click. The recipient will be more than happy to see your card in his mailbox.

Bottomline, ecards can make everyone feel good … both the sender and the giver.

The Ups and Downs of 18th Birthday Celebrations

The Ups and Downs of 18th Birthday Celebrations

By John Smith

As well as giving 18th birthday gifts, it’s traditional to mark the occasion with a special celebration. If you’re stuck for ideas, you might be able to take some tips from the stars. As you’ll see, everyone has a different way to celebrate though a fortune isn’t always a guarantee that things will go well!

Harry Potter star Emma Watson celebrated her big day by staying up until 4.30am after a lavish lunch with fellow cast members. She may have had some wonderful 18th birthday gifts, but they would have paled in comparison to something else she got for the first time that day: access to the £10.5 million that she’d earned and had been held in a trust fund.

Charlotte Church also got her hands on her fortune when she came of age, which may have been some comfort when her 18th birthday gifts didn’t include one thing she’d jokingly asked for: a million-pound ruby-studded bra. She celebrated with a quiet buffet for friends and family, but still made the headlines when photographed the worse for wear.

Not only were Prince Harry 18th birthday gifts kept low-profile, but he opted to forgo a lavish birthday celebration. Newspapers had talked of a wild booze and birds bash, but instead he spent the day on charity work, visiting hospital patients and homeless people as well as working on schemes to help young offenders and improve health standards in the third world.

That’s pretty much the opposite approach from Maria Sharapova. The tennis superstar’s 18th birthday gifts actually included a party sponsored by mobile phone firm Motorola, with the company’s logo even appearing on bottles of water. Around 700 people turned up to the Manhattan shindig, which included a live performance by pop band Maroon 5.

Princess Beatrice had a ball literally. Having been born on 8/8/88, she opted for an 1888-themed party at Windsor Castle. Guests wore period dress, though it’s not known how many Royals simply wore family hand-me-downs! Beatrice’s 18th birthday gifts included a blue and gold ballgown from the exclusive Marchesa label.

Many parents will get out the cameras for their child’s 18th, but in Kelly Osbourne’s case, the cameras were already there: she was being filmed for the reality TV series The Osbournes. Father Ozzy took her to Vegas (where he was performing) and his present of a 1958 Chevvy was the most lavish of her 18th birthday gifts.

While footballer Wayne Rooney celebrated his big day by signing a five-year contract worth £25,000 a week, his girlfriend Colleen McCoughlin’s 18th birthday party wasn’t as glamorous as you might imagine. Years before her fairytale wedding, she held her celebrations at a local hotel with sandwiches and sausage rolls. It wasn’t on the cheap though, with reports that £10,000 was put behind the bar. That could be could be why the event ended in scuffles!

It’s not just celebs whose 18th birthday gifts include misery, however. Just look at Sara Ruscoe, a schoolgirl who made the mistake of putting up a poster inviting the entire sixth form to her house party. As Sara lived in a mansion, that might have seemed manageable. The problem was that a mischief-maker persuaded Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong to give a shoutout to partygoers, mentioning the event was at a mansion in the small Devon town of Bovey Tracey. That’s all it took for 2,000 youths to gatecrash in riotous mood, causing at least £2,000 worth of damage.

She’s not the only school pupil to get into trouble on her 18th though. Eleven sixth-formers from a Somerset boarding school run by Benedictine monks had to be suspended after a party got completely out of hand. Not only were school displays damaged and thrown in a skip, but the staff room carpet was smeared with dog mess.

To be fair, most people don’t behave in such a manner on their birthday and it’s perfectly possible to celebrate with a drink responsibly. Indeed, you can always mark the occasion with a ‘grown-up’ drink such as a vintage whisky.

American teenagers don’t make such as big fuss about turning 18: probably because they can’t legally drink until 21, meaning traditional 18th birthday gifts such as champagne are a no-no. Then again, some children more than make up for it with earlier birthdays, as viewers of MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen can confirm!

There is one group of people for whom 18th birthday gifts must be chosen with a little more thought. That’s because they were born on February 29th and technically don’t celebrate their big day until they’ve been around for 72 years. Then again, everyone’s different, so there’s no reason a leap-year birthday boy or girl shouldn’t go paintballing or drive a Lamborghini with the rest of them!

Great Entertainment For Childrens Birthday Parties

Great Entertainment For Childrens Birthday Parties

By Low Jeremy

So you’ve decided to throw your child his or her first birthday party in a massive way? This is not surprising. Most parents would consider their babies’ first birthday parties as important milestones in their children’s lives, that’s why they go all out with the preparations. Some parents opt to hire professional party planners to get rid of the hassle of preparations, but there are others who prefer to go the challenging (but, actually, more fulfilling) route of planning the party themselves - from the theme down to the minutest details, like the design of the table napkins.

However, no matter how much planning and thinking is put into the kinds of food and favors are served at the party and what theme and design it will assume, no party will be complete without the proper kids’ entertainment. Children’s birthday party entertainment could be in the form of games or visual amusement.

The visual amusement part is easy to obtain. You can simply pop in a cartoon and transfer it to a wide screen projector to keep kids occupied all throughout the party, or you can hire either a magician, balloon trickster, clown, dancing character mascot or face painter for a small fee.

If you’re working on tight budget, one of the child’s family members or the parents’ adult friends can volunteer to be the entertainer for a day and tell the children stories and sing songs. Why, if willing he or she can even agree to become the clown for the day! You never know.

The games part is a little challenging, though, because you will need a good, enticing party host to get the guests to participate. Children are generally shy, so it can be quite a task to urge them to join in on the activities. There are many children’s birthday party game ideas all over the Internet, so this part will be a cinch. Also, game materials can be easily obtained from party supplies stores - or you can make them yourself.

Naturally, since you intend to have games at your child’s party, you should be prepared to give out a prize. Children get inspired to join games because of the motivation and inspiration presented by the prizes. The prizes don’t have to be so expensive. Kids are easy to please, so even a coloring book or a small box of crayons will do.

Contrary to the usual impression, holding a children’s birthday party is not really so expensive to pull off. With the right kind of entertainment, a little creativity, you will be able to come up with a party that will have everyone raving about it for days. Fun is not measured by how much you’ve spent on a particular event. It’s with the camarederie that is developed during.

My 22nd Birthday Present

My 22nd Birthday Present by Will Curl

As you begin to get along in years you cannot help but reflect back upon the various events in your life. You begin to reinvest memory into every holiday, every birthday, and every special moment that you can pull out of the cobweb filled storage of your mind. You begin to break those moments down and analyze what made them so special and unique. I have been fortunate enough to celebrate very many birthdays over the years. It can be said that there is something unique about each one. They occurred in different places and in different situations in my life. As I look back now I know that one will always be dear to my heart. The birthday present that I received on my 22nd birthday stood out as the best gift anyone could ever hope for.

On my birthday, in January 1983, my first child, my little girl Mary was born. The doctor told me that my birthday would never be the same again. He was right. There could never be a present that could compare to that which I had just received. We tend to look for many material things on our birthday but as time goes by you realize that it is the gifts of the heart that bring us the most pleasure. As I watched Mary come into the world on that birthday so many years ago I knew that my life would never be the same. This beautiful little bundle of joy was a living, breathing testament of the love that her Mother and I still cherish till this very day. I immediately saw in her all of the things I hoped she could be.

On the day of my little girls birth, my 22nd birthday, my imagination was filled with special moments to come. I was embraced with the knowledge that I was now a Daddy. I knew that being a Daddy was more than just a title. I accepted that with that title comes responsibility. Typically, our birthdays are filled with gifts that we use for a while and then they wind up on a shelf or in a closet. My 22nd birthday gift would not fall into this category. My birthday gift would require constant attention and life long maintenance with never ending love and support. This birthday gift was truly the gift that keeps on giving everyday of the year.

Mary has grown now, and has a life of her own. As I reflect back to that 22nd birthday, so many years ago, I cannot help but see it as one of the most memorable days of my life. Since that birthday Mary and I have celebrated our birthday together for a quarter of a century. As each birthday comes and goes I have the joy of sharing that 22nd birthday present over and over again. The days have gone forever when I could bounce her on my knee; a long ago time when she still depended upon Daddy for everything. But I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to watch my 22nd birthday gift grow into a woman a Daddy will always be proud of. Now that’s a birthday present for the ages.

Charitychoice Gift Cards - Great Birthday Gift Ideas

CharityChoice Gift Cards - Great Birthday Gift Ideas by meganm

It is always a challenge to find the perfect gift for individuals on their birthday. Since most people are naturally charitable, why not purchase a charity gift card as a birthday gift, and really give the gift that keeps on giving? Many of us, when we can’t decide on a gift, simply resort to a greeting card and money. Instead, giving the money to be used for charity can be the perfect birthday gift. The person whose birthday it is will also feel an enobling change of pace by being the one giving too, instead of just receiving on their birthday.

The purpose of charity gift cards or certificates, is to allow the individual who receives the gift to make use of it by donating the amount on the card, to the charity of their choice. This is a most meaningful gift and when given as a birthday gift to a child, could begin to encourage the idea of selflessness at an early age, by presenting them the opportunity for giving. As for adults, they will be happy to participate and not only think of themselves, but take into consideration the many individuals in dire need, and be able to do something to help others on their birthday.

Charity gift cards are the perfect gift idea, especially for the person who seems to already have everything or for those who just enjoy helping others. They can be easily purchased online from many different non-profit organizations, and can usually be custom designed, as e-cards and even physical cards. The gift-giver is able to purchase these cards in many denominations, therefore allowing them to choose the amount to be donated. The person who receives the charity gift card as their birthday present is able to easily redeem it online. When doing so, the gift recipient is given the chance to decide which cause they wish to direct the funds towards, choosing a charity that is close to their heart.

Anyone who gives another person a gift wants it to mean something and to feel good about doing it. Charity is something that all of us can appreciate, and it will not only mean something to the person who receives the gift card, but to the charity and certainly those who benefit from the actual funds as well. Giving a birthday charity gift card is a perfect gift for anyone, whether it is a child, a relative, a business associate or a friend. It allows us all to remember those in need, and gives us the chance to be a part of something more meaningful and rewarding than just the ordinary practice of exchanging gifts.

If you are looking for an original birthday gift idea, then CharityChoice gift cards are just for you!

Diabetic Child’s Birthday Party: It’s A Piece Of Cake!

Diabetic Child’s Birthday Party: It’s a Piece of Cake! by kirbylg

If you have a child with diabetes then your job as a parent is a little harder than for other parents on most days. But what about a special day like a birthday — and the party! What a headache!

Well, not necessarily.

There are some very simple steps that you can take to make sure that your diabetic child not only is safe at a birthday party, but is part of the gang and pretty much treated like everyone else. It is always important that your child does not feel that they are different from their friends, but that is particularly true for diabetic children, and especially so at a birthday party — especially if it is someone else’s.

Your diabetic child needs to be able to play the same games as their friends, eat the same party food as the other guests, and at the end of the party they need to take home near enough the same goodie-bags. You worry that the party food will send their blood sugar levels all out of whack, and that all the fun, excitement, and strenuous activity will surely make all management of their diabetes almost impossible!

But, to be honest, you don’t have to worry about all of that — you just need to take these six simple precautions for before and after the party (and during, if you will be around):
o Check your child’s blood sugar level before they go to the party just to make sure they are okay going in. It just makes simple sense to ensure their blood sugar levels are not close to the edge before they even start having fun.

o Check that your child will have access to suitable drinks — sugar-free, or low-sugar (including “diet” drinks). You may find this easier than you think: many parents these days are careful to make sure their children do not have too much in the way of full-sugar drinks because of possible damage to their teeth, as well as the adverse impact on their general health, so there will usually be suitable drinks available anyway.

o Check that the food is not all sugary, and that starchy carbohydrates will be available — for example sandwiches, potato (in various forms such as crisps, chips, or wedges). Make sure the person in charge of the food knows that your child needs to eat some of them. But equally, make sure that the person in charge of the food knows that it is okay for a diabetic to eat some sugary sweet food — sugar does not have to be cut out of a diabetic’s diet completely.

o Make sure that there is someone at the party who knows the symptoms of a diabetic attack (hypo) and make sure they know what to do if that happens.

o If you are not planning to stay at the party with your child, make sure you can be easily contacted, and make sure that at least two adults at the party know how to contact you (and make sure you keep your phone on!).

o When the party is over, check your child’s blood sugar level again just to make sure they are still okay and their diabetes is still under control.

You really don’t need to worry. Remember that diabetes does not mean “no sugar” — it means low sugar, controlled sugar. With some careful preparation your child can not only enjoy a birthday party with relatively little risk, but can also feel that great sense of togetherness with their friends.

Have a good party!

Lewis has two relatives and a close friend with diabetes, and decided to find out more about it. Now he wants a greater awareness of diabetes — what it is, how likely you are to develop it, how you test for it, and how to live your life to the max if you have it — and so he has created a resource of free diabetes information in plain English for everyone. Birthday Cake Pans - The Number One Tip For Choosing The Right Shape

Birthday Cake Pans - The Number One Tip For Choosing the Right Shape by E. Cordova

The problem most bakers have, especially beginners, is choosing birthday cake pans in the shape that best suits the party. Where do you begin?

The number one tip I give first time bakers is to first imagine a theme for the birthday party and this will help you choose the cake’s shape. Themed birthday parties are in; boring parties with no focus are out. The cake pan shape should match the theme. But how do you choose a theme?

For those who want to know how to decide on a theme, and help you choose the shape of the birthday cake pan, here are some tips that will help you:

1. What TV or movies does your child enjoy watching?

Here’s how this will help you choose a birthday cake pan. Your kids love watching certain TV shows. It could be Sponge Bob Square Pants, Sesame Street, Barney, or any other television show. They may also enjoy watching a movie over and over again.

For example, I have a niece that’s grown up now. But when she was little, she really loved the Little Mermaid. She was staying with us one summer, and I remember watching that movie every day she was with us. It would have been easy choosing a birthday cake pan shape for her.

2. What sports or games does your child like to play?

These days, most kids are involved in one sport or another. This is a great opportunity for you to be able to choose a birthday cake pan.

For example, do they play Little League baseball, Pop Warner Football, Tee Ball? What about soccer? Some kids even like doing karate or tae kwon do.

Find out what your child enjoys playing, and this will help you choose the birthday cake pan’s shape that matches a sports theme.

3. What books does your child like to read?

Knowing this will help you choose a birthday cake pan. All you have to do is think about what books your child likes for you to read them.

If they’re old enough to read on their own, what are their favorite books? Maybe they like a certain genre like mystery or science fiction. Or maybe they enjoy a series like “Harry Potter.” By knowing what type of books they like, you can easily choose a birthday cake pan.

Once you know what your child enjoys, you can decide on the perfect theme. And, once you have a theme, you can choose birthday cake pans in a shape that fits that theme. The key is knowing your children, and no one knows them better than you.

You’ve chosen a theme. You know the shape of the birthday cake pans you want, now you need to purchase them. CakePanStore.com offers a huge variety of cake pans at the best prices. Visit http://cakepanstore.com today!
